Little Herbert Winchester was quite
ill but has recovered.
John Herr Is carrying his arm in a
sling owing to the fact of a sprained
wrist.
Mr. and Mrs. Gentry Short are mak
ing preparations to leave Rieth and
move to Huntington. Mr. Short is
manifest clerk at the depot here and
Is being transferred to Huntington.
F. A. WIndrey has been called back
to Rieth by the O. W. R. & N. Co.
from Gibbon. Mr. Windrey worked
here all last summer and winter but
was temporarily- discharged when the
force was reduced in the early spring.
The new O. W. R. & N. depot is be
ing occupied.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Kennedy and in
fant daughter left ' Wednesday with
Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy Sr., for Spo
kane', his home.. They will be gone
only a few days.

school directors at the school house

men's Community Club of Pilot Rock
held their first meeting of the season
at the church Wednesday' evening,
September 7. A splendid program fol
lowed the business meeting and a sot
eial time and refreshments were en
joyed later. Thirty-four members re
sponded to roll call and five -new
names were added to' the membership
roll. They were Mrs. Frank Michael,
Sr., Mrs. Pearl Fletcher, Mrs. Sanford
