played Friday afternoon by boys of
Pendleton who are adept in aquatic
sports at the meet staged at the city
natatorium following the Red Cross In
struction classes and demonstrations.
The meet was under the auspices of
Rei Ellis and Ed Schiller, and prlr.es
and ribbons were awarded for the
winners In the various events.
The winners in the events were:
Swim, 100 yard free-for-all, Xorrls
Graham, first; Lewi Harthrong, sec
ond; Vern Dale, third.
Swim, 60 yards, for boys under 12,
Howard Brfundage, first; Allen Hoy
den, second; Floyd Harch, third.
Swim, DO yards, for boys more than
12, Loyde McGcc, first; Flabel Tem
ple, second; Jack Neilsen, third.
Dive for distance for toys mora
than 12, Harold Hatton, first; Loyde
McGee, second; Loren Booth, third.
Dive for distance, boys under 12,
Floyd Harch, first; Howard Brund
age, second; Harold Estes, third.
Best fancy diver, free-for-all,
Harold Hattpn, first; Ixiyde McGee,
second; Joe Pohl, third.
Swim for 50 yards carrying another
boy, won by Louis Harthrong who
carried Floyd Harch.
There were 15 entries in some
events, and competition was keen. The
prizes consisted mainly of Boy Scout
goods.
