P.) -Lack of outside buying and advices that Ca nadian wheat was being offered at the seaboard dn the same basis as Ameri can grain caused a late slump in wheat yesterday and tended to nullify an otherwise strong market on the Chicago board of trade. Wheat fin ished l-4c to lc lower, corn ruled un changed to 1-Sc higher and oats were steady to l-4c higher. In provisions meats were generally Unchanged, but lard was from 5 to 17 1-2 points high er. After some early wavering, wheat worked upward with fair steadiness. until at noon December was 8 1- above the low point of last Monday. Houses with eastern connections bought to remove hedges against ex ports and the local trade became bull ish on statements that the farm loan law was bound to help business. The high point brought out Increased pres sure, the longs showing anxiety to un load when the advance failed to stim ulate business from outside sources. The Canadian reports accentuated the selling movement and as buying ceas ed all gains of the day were wiped out. Corn was active and higher. A firm undertone developed, which enabled the grain to resist the wheat slump. Oats followed the other grains, but trade was dull and the range narrow.
