Hodktnson Corporation, which began a run at the Alia Theatre yesterday. 'The Brute Master" Is strong and virile just the sort of story In Which motion picture devotees like tliis spuniikl "he-man ' actor best. It fits the rugged personality of the man 76.10 1 nil stories should fit tlu star appearing 30.50 'hi m and seldom On. As "Bucko McAllister," the giant Scotchman whoi went forth at boyhood to rule the seas, Hcbart liosworth does what may be termed the best work of his career. The charactoi ization is a convincing one, showing the power of environ ment and circuntslam e over the minds and lives of men. Because he had received few kind words and many hard knocks, ln had early reached the conclusion that only by. brute strength could he hew his way through life And not until he meiWs Madeline Grey, the cultured American girl who is forced to take passage on his schoon er in order to return to her people 111 j the States, is he brought to a full j realization of the true meaning of. life... 1 - - : : .. This unusual drama of American society, directed by John (1. Adolfi, for Robertson-Cole, promises a reve lation in motion pictures of the new er and better sort. The versatility of ,f nrpentier, according to eminent critics who attended a recent pre-re-747.14 I view, will prove a great surpnVc to 850.45 j lovers of the cinema art. 1 37.96 1 Based on an intriguing story of love 291.49 j and mystery, in which Carpentier is 42X.55! Kiven opportunity to display his capa 80.35 j eity as a boxer, a sportsman and as j gentleman of the first order. 'The Wonder Man," should prove to be one of the most commendable production that the Arcade theatre has ever pre sented. Included in the picture is a boxine bout, "with men of na'tional and inter national prominence forming the au dience. At .he time the boxing scene was taken more than 2. "00 persons packed the studio. This realistic scene, said to be the most perfect of its kind ever filmed in the history of the screen, shows Carpentier in the ring for the first time on this side of the Atlantic He fights four lust rounds with a worthy opponent. Among other commendable reports I on "The Wonder Man," receiver from critics who witnessed the pre-revicw, ; is tne sensation created by the super') j acting of Caryc.it'er. Now with the price reduced to $1635 ir must be evident that opportunity is knocking at the door of every man who knows an unusual investment when he sees it. The new price is amazingly low. It will appear absurd after you have had one ride behind the motor that accelerates from five to twenty-five miles rer hour in nine seconds flat. And remember, please, the "Glenbrook" is a distinctly new pro ductnot an old model repainted and re-christened with a 1921 label. It is a splendid investment now and will be a splendid investment one year from now. PAIGE-DETROIT MOTOR CAR CO., DETROIT, Michigan Manufacturer of Paige Motor Car and Motor Truck 0. E.
