Oh, ThiHWIii-oiitifiil Ix-KH.
Dear Tad It seems to me that ar
ists and writers spend most of their
'.ime moaning over the beautiful legs
if that beautiful Georges Carpentier. I
ian't for the life of me see what the
beautiful legs have to do with the
Frenchman's ability to fight. There
liave been any number of pugs with
beautiful legs, eyes, teeth, ears and
hair. What he needs is a beautiful
sock. .
A pair of beautiful "Frankle Bail

Dempsey's Weight.
Two years go this week Jack
Dempsey stepped on a scales on the
porch of h.'s training quarters at Mau
mee Bay, Toledo, and tipped the beam
at 201 pounds. Jack Kearns, In order
to test the scales had three or four
newspaper men hop on first and they
admitted that theands pointed to the
correct figures. A moment later
Dempsey, dressed In a ' bathing suit,
stepped on and tipped 201 pounds.
On the day of the Willard fight. Jack
hit tho same scales at 187. You can
figure from thnt Jack's weight for this
fight. He will be lighter, no doubt, ai
he Intends working harder. At Toledo
he had u bad cut over his eye and al
most stopped work entirely. It's a
good bet that the champ will be well
under 1H0 pounds on July 2. He
weighs just 196 pounds today.
Another Soiop for Geo. Tritt. "
The Margate City Free Lance had
another scoop yesterday. Geo. Tritt,
tbe "on his toes" reporter, visited Car
pentler's barracks and learned that the
French beauty had engaged a number
of new sparring partners.
Mr. Tritt was very Inquisitive and
kept boring.Gus Wilson for news. Gus
finally became a bit peeved, and in or
der to shake Mr. Tritt informed him of
the thrilling news.
'We will have two' new sets of part
ners soon," piped Gus. "Len and Per-
rlns will be here next Monday and on
Tuesday we expect Rogers Peet."
Mr. Tritt smiled, hurried away to the
Great Neck telegraph office and senl
the following wire to his sheet:
"Carpentier will have two new
sparring partners next week, Leon
Perrins and ltodger Peet. Th:s Is ex

"Every time I go out on a run now,
I feel thankful to Tanlac for I'm con
lnced It kept' me on trie Job," said
William W. Mason, 1924 MeClellan
St., Philadelphia, for the past nine
years a motorman for the Rapid Tran
sit Co.
"I had stomach trouble In a bad
form for three years and -was goin$
dewn hill fast. Nothing I ate agreed
with me and after every meul I was
sure to have heartburn, dizziness and
sometimes pwful cramps. I got In
such a nevnus condition my head
shook like a man with the palsy and
at nights my sleep was broken and
restless. In the mornings I felt so
miserable I used to read the time to
come for me to take out my car, and
it toi k every nmice of eTii I could
tr.nuer to stick until quitting time.
Firnlly I got so weak and was so dis
counted I was ready to give up.
'This was my condition when I
started taking Tanlac and I owe all
my present' good health to this won
derful medicine and to nothing else.
The first thing It did for me was to
whet my appetite and, I soon found 1
could eat anything without fear of
had after-effects. It's a fact, four
bottles made a new man out of me.
My nerves are quiet, I sleep like a
log and wake up in the morning feel
ing fine. Then I eat a big breakfast
and go to work whistling like I used
to long ago. If people knew Tanlac
like I do the clerks 'in the drug stores
couldn't wrap it up fast enough to
supply the demand. It's great."
