mometer about the 90 mark, has help
ed the uiralfa to some extent. If the
weather continues as It Iiub been, there

(ho first crop. The work will be in
progress In a week or to.

The road to be Improved eonsists ot
a Mreteh of 13 miles from Holdinan to
Cold Springs, through Columbia, and
will be graded and graveled,. There In
hopes 111 the near future of seeing the
diagonal road from Hermlxton con
nect with the Cold Springs rood mak
ing as fine a highway as any In the
Mate. The diagonal road la Just about
finished and alghtsecrs not satisfied to
wait for It's completion havu been mo
toring out taking in the sights In these
pans, (in Sunday many new people

places on tho project and many visited
the government reservoirs.
Columbia, Park has recently hri'1

fence has been completely built, gates

hood takes great pride in knowing

Briggs winning a gold medal, being
best among 75 contestants in essay

The prizes were offered by the Knights
of Pythias to the Sth grade and high
school students.

where she has been a guest of her sis
ter, Mrs. Owen F. Jones, and spent n
day last week visiting and transacting
