DEPOSITS JtKMAI. bTATIONAItV.
VIENNA, May SI. (A. P.) Bank
deposits here have remained virtually
stathinury for three mouths, thut
forcing the bunks to resort lo .emer
gency measures to meet demands of
laige depositors for payrolls and sim
ilar purposes. They are depositing se
curities with the government and hav
ing money printed to order.
The curious situation is ascribed
principally to the law governing de
positors, which requires a complete
identification of the Individual. Many
persons object to this, not wishing to
disclose their assets for taxation and
preferring to have many small bank
accounts under different names. The
bunkers have asked for the repeal of
'.ho law.
