k About Septic Tank. j
O. A. Hart man, mayor of Pendleton, is
has officially written Hen F. Hill, 3
mayor of Walla Walla inquiring as to s
the disposition of garbage and sewage i
in Walla Walla, particularly in refer-;!!
once to the use of a septic tank before t3
sewage is allowed to be emptied Into a !
running stream. The Hound-up town;s
executive called attention to the fact I J;
that tho Oregon law compels the pass- l
ago ol sewage through a septic tank i 2
before It is released and as Pendleton
Is n violator of tho state law, step must E
bo Immediately taken to come within
the statute. As the Washington law!;;
allows scwago to he emptied iuto's '
streams without the septic lank treat-
ment, the mayor was unable to offer jE
advice to the Pendleton executive.
