ToniMirnry (.a lm. CHICAGO. April 15. (A. O For the first time in several weeks, buying power In the Kraiu markets broadened somewhat yesterday and liquidation Save evidence of having perhaps spent its force. All deliveries of wheat and corn after touching new low record prices for the season, rallied to above yesterday s fin'sli. Wheat, however, failed to hold the advance, and closed weak, 1 to 1 8-4c net lower, w ith Iay 1.21 f-4 to 1.21 1-2 nnd July 1.05 3-4 to 1.06. Corn gained 1-8 to 5-8 net. and oats a shade to -2& 5-S. Provi sions lost 17 to 35c. At first bearish reports concerning industrial and financial conditions tended to keep the wheat on the down trrade nnd so did favorable advices on the crop outlook. Values quickly de scended to the lowest level yet for the season. Then a leading house here to day took an open stand that depress ion factors had been more than dis counted. Others were inclined to the same opinion, nnd throughout the rest of the day the market assumed a more lively two-sided character than has been the case. Sellers, though, appeared to be la n majority again during the last 15 min utes of the session, influenced possibly by absence of export demand. Corn and onts were relatively firm from the outset, responding to an Im proved cash inquiry. A fair amount of corn was said to have been taken for Europe.
