Nanchang, have pledged themselves to

ent in money to the famine fund. This
particular form . of self denial Is
spreading all over China. The results
already show that thousands of chil
dren will be saved through the sacr -fice
of these young women.
This Is the principal means by which
Chinese girls are helping the nation In
its crisis, but It is by no means the
only one. In the series of "tag days"
In this city, Rhanrhal, Tientsin and
other towns, young Chinese girls of the
best families went openly on the j
streets an unheard of thing and j
"tagged" pedestrians and auto and j
'rickshaw parties. Large sums were
raised by this method.
