Johnson, former Pendleton resident end orchestra lender, who l now assessor of Walla Walla county, ! now heralded oh the champion checker player of the Garden City. Ilufu Wolfe paid 110 for Imbibing too large ly of Intoxicating liquor Saturday night, as did George Splno. Jack Geb hurt and Jim Iloyt were called before the Judge on the charge of being drunk and disorderly but could not pay their fine of 1 15 and $10 respec tively. They reside in the bastlle. Guy II. Johnson drove his car through the st reals of the city without the neces sary tail light. He was caught and paid $5. That familiar character in the police courts all over the land. John Doe, received a $2 fine for park ing his, car at the curb, which is con-, trury to the city ordinance. Pohn paid. Judge Marsh re port a very mild winter for Montana this year and said the temperature ranged around 60 while he was there The people of Montana 'are "oil crazy" he said and will .talk of nothing else. There are 23 producing 'wells near Lewlstown, according to Judge Marsh which produced lMi,noo gallon of oil during the first 20 days of the year. Woman Catches Dig Dass The credit for catching the first and1 largest bass of the season goes to Mrs. Art Wendt this year for Her successful engllng of a 2 3-4 pound black bass yesterday in the sloughs near here. The bass is on display in the window of th-ol Baum shop and Is receiving a great amount of Interest. A number of anglers were out yesterday but none brought home as large a trophy as Mrs. Wendt. Fishing Is getting better according to local authorities and the river Is clearing rapidly. Youngsters Get Holiday The third grade pupils of Lincoln school are enjoying a half holiday thin afternoon. The youngster won the l'arent Teacher Association pennant this month, the awarding of which is based on the attendance of parents at the gP. T. A. meetings.
