Girl Run Away
Milton authorities reported to A. A
Roberts chief of police that two girls
age 14 and 15 respectively had been
captured at that city. The girls had
left Pendleton some days ago. A
mother of one of the girl happened
to be working In Milton and captured
her daughter as she was boarding the
train. It was requested mat the names
might be withheld.

ma Wade was celebrated last night
when a group of friends called, as a
surprise, at her home On West Webb

DELPHIAN CLUB MEETS.
A meeting of the Delphian Club was
held yesterday at the . home of Mrs.
David Nelson. A paper read by Mrs.
Lyman Rice, had for its theme,
"Chivalry," and Mrs. V. h. Ingram
read a paper on "Khlghtly Contest and
Tournament." Carl Nelson played
piano solo. Following the program
refreshments were served by the hos
tess. Brilliant red carnations . lent
their charm as a aecoration for the
rooms of the Nelson home.

a statement today criticising the re
ported agreement between Ambassa
dor Shirehara and Ambassador Morris
regarding the status of Japanese in
America. "When stripped of diplo
matic camouflage" Johnson said, re
liable Information he had was that the
agreement provided for repeal of Cal
lfornla's anti-alien land law. . A new
"gentlemen's agreement," for the ex
clusion of Japanese, which "does not
exclude," was also proposed, Johnson
declared.
