Bites, who for twenty-seven years
has served the Institution. The ad
dress of the evening was given h
Dr. Frank Dyer, of Tacoma, Washing
Ion, who has beon active In this coasi
for the past seven years In social re
form and education, as well as con
spicuous as a popular and forceful
preacher. Dr. Dyer spoke eloquently
of the Influence of the Frlgrims is
establishing the principals of demo
cracy, education: and idealism in
America.,

Great Northern shops at HIHvard will
cut working hours from eight to seven
hours a dnyaccordlng to information
obtained from tho office of the super
Intendent of shops. Tills Includes 75
men fn the roundhouses and approxi
mately 1000 men employed In the oth
er shops. George Rose, chief clerk in
the superintending office, stated that
no Information could he given as to
the reason for the cut in hours, except
that It would savo, another reduction
in the force. '
