be a hard fight but that the result was
not for him to predict. He had noth
ing to offer regarding definite ar
rangements as to where the fight Is to
be held.
"Whether I retire depends upon the
result of the match." he said. "If I
em beaten, I will retire; If not, I prob
ably shall go on fighting."
One reason for his coming to Hol
land, Carpentler said, was to visit the
land of his wife's birth.
In an exhibition match Saturday

his cleverness.
