The past week-end marked the re
turn of several Pendleton young men
to college after spending the holidays
at home. Among them were Lloyd
Montgomery, Allen McLaln and low
ell Stockman, who returned to O. A.
C; Thomas Murphy. Ned Strahorn,
Hubert Smith, Uoyd McRae, Edwin
Kirtley and Arthur Rudd.

Miss Kathleen Meloy yesterday took
up her duties as head of the commer-

school, succeeding E. O. Draper who
resigned to become head of the book
keeping department at The Peoples'
Warehouse. Miss Meloy is a graduate
of p. A. C. She Is making her home
with Rev. and Mrs. o. L. Clarke at the
Presbyterian manse.

E-lks- club yesterday. Other guests of
Mr. Estes were James Johns, Jr.,
James If. Owlnn, James Sturglg and
John I Vaughan. Following; the
uncheon, tho realty men discussed
community and clvlo development and
nterestlrur talks were given by Mr. j
Vaughan, Mr. Estes, Mr. Johns and Mr
Sturgis. The local men are making
plans for a really luncheon in Tendle
ton, January 17, at which time real es
tate men from various parts of the
county will be guests of the local men.
The organisation consists of about 30 I
members but a membership campaign
Is to be launched with a view to broad
ening the scope of the association. The
luncheon will be the Initial step in the
campaign. The local men plan to
moet once a month or oftener for
luncheon and wetting.

pared by the Hartman Abstract Co.,
contains 602 typewritten pages. Maps
and blue prints of the system have to
be consulted In order to ascertain that
tho descriptions of the right of way
are Uutod correctly.
