Eight negroes were yesterday sur
rounded in a house at Kurtsboro, Ala
bama, by a, posse, following a battle
between whites and blacks last night
in which several persons are said to
have been wounded, some fatally, ac
mording to reports received here. Re
inforcements have been rushed to
Kurtsboro and supply guns and am
munition are being sent from here.
