ADAMS Dec 25. The Adama com munity ChrWmaa tree entertainment waa held on Thursday at 8 p. m. In the city hall. The entire community were in attendance asnd were entertained with a t'ne program by the achool children. Mr. Teager. Mrs. Calkina, Mrs. Deboraa and Miss Mortlmore, tearhera of the publlo school. Instruct ed the children, an orchestra furnish ed the music as follows: Mrs. Evard MeOollum accompanied on the piano, L. L. Ueuallen, violin. Bert Ktrby, cornet, Mrs. Bebola, piano, and Doris Lieuallen accompanied on the piano. A large choir waa present and sang aonrs. Each in the audience waa served with a sack of candy and nuta and an ..a the hall was crowded In spite of the bad, atormy night andj Santa, Claua was a oanay ana pu me children enjoyed his coming till , Mr. and Mrs. Will Boyer and daugh ters, Wllma and Helen, motored to Adams Friday to shop for Christmas. Mrs. Henry Bunch la confined to her home with a bad cold. Mrs. Alei McKenxie Is able to be out after a few days of Illness . Misa Helen Blake waa a visitor at tha Adams high achool Tuesday . Misa Bertha McFarland waa In Pen- dleton Wednesday doing Christmas shopping. Mr. and Mm. Otho 8toll and chll ren of Tendleton, motored to Adams Thursday to atten the Christmas tree In the evening. Sullivan Relmer of Pendleton motor ed to Adams to attend the Chrstmas tree Thursday evening. Laurence Greenhorn of Pendleton, motored to Adams today. The Adams Knights or Pythias held lodge an appointed committees to see that all the poor and needy people of Adams were supplied with whatever waa needed for warmth and comfort and a happy Christmas, as Adams has several families that are needy at the present time. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christian and daughter Leone, were In the city of Pendleton today. Mr .an Mrs. L.'' L ' .Lieuallen and daughters, Doris and Dena, motored to Pendleton to shop for Christmas. All the rooms in the Adams school were decorated with evergreen and holly and had a nice entertainment and exchanged presents and Santa appear ed down the big chimney and all had a dandy time. Mr and Mrs, Greyloffl left for La Grande to spend the' Christmas holi days with her mother . Dealy and chil dren went to Milton to spend Christ mas week with relatives. Lenlus Johnson, teacher In the Mc Kay district went to Freewater to spend Xmas. Lewis Barker went to Pendleton Friday to consult a doctor. He got truck In the eye with a piece of knot while making a sled tongue. Elmer Folk came over from La Grande Monday to spend a few days with his parents. Helen Denson returned home from La Grande to spend the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Sewell went to Pendle. ton Friday to spend Christmas with relatives. Mr. and fArs. C. F. Seymour moved to Pendleton Thursday. Monday morning the committee in charge of the central Europe Child's Kelief received instructions from the Ponrtlptnn commercial club that the cuota for Jleacham was $100 which was raised in as short time. A heaw snow storm raged over the mountains Dec, 21 and 32, all traffic over the wagon road is blocked. The snow now is 2 feet deep with heavy drifts in places.
