Tho owner of the schooner Jane Palmer, which was reported Saturday In dis tress BOO miles enst of Capo Hatterus, has been notified -that the vessel has been abandoned and her crew landed at Bermuda by the steamship Cotatl. Tho Palmer s bound from New port News for Buenos Aires with coal when she ran into a storm and started leaking. When sailors along the water front heard of the June Palmer's fnte they Immediately recalled the tradltlonul "hoodoo" of tho Palmer fleet that has now claimed six of the original eight vessels. The first of the fleet's misfortunes occurred In 199. when they Marie Palmer was lost off Fl ying Pall Shoals, N. C. In the same year came the loss of the Davis Palmer on Harding's 1 edge, off Boston harbor.
