PROFESSOR WOULD BAR
CANADIAN AMBASSADOR
SASKATOON, Bask., Dec, 10. A,
Pr) Appointment of a Canadian am
bassador to the United States, as has
been suggested, would be the enter
ing wedge of a movement which
would disrupt the British Empire, in
the opinion of Prof. W. F. Osborne,
of the University of Manitoba, who
discussed panada's relations to the
empire In an eddress here recently.
The naming of the ambassador, he
argued, would mean that there would
exist a possibility of a difference of
opinion between the British and the
Canadian ambassadors; It would mean
that probably every British dominion
would in the course of ten years be
represented at the various capitals by
their own ambassadors, among whom
differences of opinion might arlse.
This would lead to contentions within
the empire, and the unity of the or
ganlzation' would disappear, he de
clared. '
