Pay was fittingly celebrated in Pilot
liock. In the morning a program took
place at the flag pole. Flag drills and
songs by the school children and a vo
cal solo by Marvin Ray were followed
by an address. Fred Steiwer of Pen
dleton was the speaker of the day and
was introduced by W. O. Stnver. At
r.oon a very larse crowd enjoyed the
free lunch of barbecue, mince pies and
coffee. The turkey shoot at the ball
park proved an Interesting feature of
the afternoon and was attended by
ouite a number of out of town peo
ple.
A picture show and dance in tho
evening completed the day's entertain
ment. A large but quiet and orderly
crowd pronounced the celebration t
!si:ccess from start to finish.
