Tho bride and groom have spent
most all their lives in Umatilla coun
ty. Mrs. Saylor Is a graduate of the
MUton high school and Mr. Saylor nf
the high school at Ferndals. After an
extensive wedding trip to Spokane and
coast points the couple will make their
home on the Saylor ranch ten miles
west of Echo.
MACCABEES ENJOY EVENT .
Maccabees and their husband en
joyed a delightful evening Thursday at
the home of Dr. and Mrs. H. A. New-'
ton, a party of sixty arriving with bulg
ing supper baskets for an informal
call. "Spooks" two of them, queer
creatures who seemed to walk back
ward greeted the guests, said In re

Several hours of cards were enjoyed
and readings were given by Mrs. Sam
Wright and Mrs. C. H. Conroy, while
songs were enjoyed from a quartet

Dayton. The supper filled the final
hour.
MRS. FOLSOM IS HONORED
Mrs. J. V. Tallman extended a de
lightful bit of hospitality yesterday
when a group of friends -were asked
In for the pleasure of her mother Mrs.
E. J. Folsom, who has been here from
her home in, California for a summer
visit.
The guests, old-time friends of the
honoree spent several informal hours
with needlework, later enjoying
dainty buffet luncheon. They num
bered about twenty-five. -
Mrs. Folsom plans to depart for her
home tomorrow and she Is to be ac
companied as far as Portland y Mrs.
Tallman and Mrs. George Fell who
will remain there for a short visit. .
DELPHIAN CLUB MTSETS.
The Delphian club members and a
number of additional friends shared
the hospitality of Mrs. David Nelson
at her attractive home on Washington

Mrs. R. H. Home gave an interest
ing talk on Italy of Today, and Mrs.
J. T. Lieuallen discussed the Middle
Ages.
Mrs. Nelson served a dainty lunch
eon at the conclusion of the program.
Guests other than club members who
enjoyed the afternoon were Miss Flor
ence Sweet, Miss Lena Boone, Miss
Maxwell and Miss Edith Daubner.

Two friends of the Couple, Mrs

Mrs. Elizabeth Ingalls witnessed the
service.
The bride was daintily attired In a
gown of flesh pink Georgette crepe
Mr. and Mrs. Vvinslow will be at
home after October 24.

LEAVING FOR SALEM.
Mrs. R. I. Keator and Mrs. Charles
Randall of Salem, left today for Mrs.
Randall's home in Salem. Mrs. Ran
dall has been here for the past month,
recuperating from a fall which she
suffered when she first arrived here.
She has been a guest at the Keator
home.
MRS. RICHARDSON VISITS.
Mrs. J. T. Richardson, formerly of
Pendleton, now of La Grande, is a
week-end visitor in the city and a
guest at the home of Mrs. R. D. Sayres.
Mrs. Richardson Is a member of the
Delphian club and attended yester
day's meeting.
VISITS AT ROY HOME
Mrs. Paul Humphrey of New York
is visiting at the home of her sister,
Mrs. Marvin Roy, of Pilot Rock. Mrs,
Humphrey was formerly Htelen Lynde
Her husband is in the radio service of
the United States navy.
SPEND DAY IN WALLA WALLA.
Miss Iva Black and Mrs. L. W.
Kingsbury went to WaJIa Walla this
morning on the stage to spend the day
visiting wth friends.
T. P. W. CLUB IS PLANNED.
A week ago the management of
the Peoples Warehouse entertained
the employes of the store with a ban
quet and dance at the Elks club. The
event proved so enjoyable that now
a move has been taken by. ttie half
hundred employes, themselves, tow
ard organization of a permanent so
cial club. Although plans have not
nil been completed, it has been decld
ed that a series of dancing or card af
fairs shall be scheduled for the sea-ion.
