MEMORIAL DAY 1920
At the graves of America's dead, France
is laying flowers on our Memorial Day. It
is a day when we should remember not only
our own heroes who fought to preserve the
Republic, but the "brave dead" of all nations
buried on the battlegrounds of the Great
War, who fought to bring greater freedom
to the whole world.
It is our duty now as Americans to pledge
ourselves to bring to final consummation
the end for which these men fought, to de
termine that their sacrifice shall not have
been made in vain.
