who had- sold out on the advances of
last week.! Keports of an improved
spot demand were a factor, while the
decline in the Kio market had evi
dently been discounted by the private
reports of late yesterday but after sell,
ing up from 14.65 to 1S.69, or nine
points net higher for September, prices
reacted, "owing to reports of an. easy
tone in the cost and freight situation.
September closed at 14.59 bid, or
about ten points off from the best
with the general market closing net
unchanged to two points higher.

cember, January and March 14.60.
Spot coffee was reported in mod
erate demand at from 15 to 16' 6-8
for Rio ,7's and 23 3-4 to 2i, for

high prices gave out today Id the
corn market, rallies failed to last and
there was a heavy close, 1 5-( to 2 8-4c
net lower, with July 1.76 K to 1.70 hi
and September 1.62 w to 1.(2 H. Oats
lost 1 1-(1 14 to 1 6-8, and provi
sions 25 to 62c.
Much attention was given to talk of
special effort which western railroads
had begun for the purpose of enlarg
ing the movement of grain. A report
that Omaha was shipping corn to
Chicago and that Kansas City and
Milwaukee were ready to follow suit
put the bulls at a further disadvan
tage and made values drop rapidly at
the last.
Oats although firm at the start de
clined later with corn.
Provisions reflected the weakness of
grain.
