ethical practice of a robber who spe
cialized In robbing robbers was re
Vfaled today when a Jury in general
s Hsi.in convicted John P. Collins of
Krand larceny.
Thl robber apparently knew that
Frederick P. Hobb, another robber,
had in hl apartment $5000 and a $400
gnUl watch, which ho had stolen from
an exprenn car In Philadelphia. He
called on Robb, the 'brother robber,
the testimony showed, displayed a
budge, announced ho was a member of
the police department's narcotic nquad
and demanded Robb's loot.
He got It.
Itobber Hobb, who ran convicted of
the expreHB robbery, was brought
here to testify agafntt Collins, who

ing firm of Salt Lake City has receiv
ed a letter from John S. Ferris, an
old time miner and prospector of
southern Utah, stating that he Is pow
engaged in opening the Ferris mine
at Hye Valley. Or., with good pros
pects of profitable returns from the
gold and silver-bearing ore.
Ferris asserts he is the real disco
ercr of the noted Hilver Ueef mine of
southern Utah, making the location In
Match, l i 7 5 , but complains that oth
ers later claimed credit for the dis
covery. one paragraph of Ferris' letter
reads as follows:
"Now, at 80 years, I am still the
simo old hustler In the hills, and
am as hearty as a bear."
