and eight cases of the disease have
been reported. One death, that of 15-year-old
Robert English, has been at
tributed to diphtheria. Dr. McFaul
sent samples of the sputum from pa
tients showing diphtheria symptoms
to the state health board who pro
nounced the disease to be diphtheria.
