In the circuit court. The complaint
alleges a balance of $70.30 Is due the
Idaintlff as balance and Interest on
a promissory note of defendants and
asks for judgment for same, and for
35 attorney fees. D. W. Bailey is
attorney for plaintiff.

A party of trap shooters from Pen
dleton participated in a shoot At Athe
na yesterday, returning in the even
ing, reporting an enjoyable day's

The Pendleton Rod and Gun Club
will give a social shoot at the Hound
up traps nenl Sunday, starting at
10:30. The social shoot will be four
2r.-bird events, a 'total of 100 birds,
with an entrance fee of $2.50 for each
25. Purses will be divided 40, 30, 20
and 10 per cent. A large number of
visiting shooters are expected to be

Pilot ftm-k to Kxiatnd.
A new addition to the town of Pilot
Rock is to bo platted and put on the
market by John W. Etter. a prominent
resident of that place. The land lies
northeast of Pilot Rock on the Pendle
ton road. The effort will be made to
locate the new high school planned
for Pilot Rock on the new addition.
Saturday, March 29, the people of Pi
lot Rock vote on the proposition of
Issuing $35,000 schol bonds for build
ing a new union high school building.

secretary for the T. M- C. A.. Is her
today In the Interests of an Eastern
Oregon conference to be held at La
Grande on April 10. He will meet
with a number of loca, people this
evening on the subject. According to
Mr. Walters the T. M. C. A. admits
some mistake In overseas work but
declares that a great service was ren
dered the army neverthett-ss. and that
there will come a reaction from some
of the criticism being made of the T
field wok.

trip to New York during which he
made extensive purchases of high

Sergeant Richard HaniM arrived in
Pendleton this morning for a two
days- visit here with his sister. Mrs.
Charles Norrls. Sergeant Hanson
formerly lived in Pendleton, but at
the opening of the war was employed
as a reporter on the Salem Statesman,
and a member of Co. M. state militia,
which unit waa a part of the 163 In
fantry In service In France, and was!
recently mustered out at Camp Lewis. i
