Both the girls' basketball team ana

The score of the girls' game was 23
to 13 and the boys' game 38 to 11.

Mrs. William Matlock this mornlna
received word from her grandson,
Wesley Mimms, that he Is now in New
York having been on a convoy with
2OU0 soldiers. Minims Is a Pendleton
boy who enlisted In the navy early
in the war.

Mrs. Battle Whitaker, wife of Dr.
C. J. Whltakenr and one of Pendleton's
pioneers, who died recently in McMln
nville at the home of her sister. Mrs.
Hand, will be burled In Pendleton or
Hunday. The funeral will be at 2 p.
m. In the Baptist church with the
Rev. W. H. Cox officiating.
