By way of proclaiming to the world
the patriotism of Pilot Hock people,
he residents of that town yesterday
set up a tall flagpole in the center
of the leading street intersection and
have raised a huge flag, according to
Deputy Warden George Tonkin who
was there yesterday

In observance of Good Friday al
most all of the business houses of
Pendleton closed yesterday afternoon
from l until 3 o'clock while services
were held at the Episcopal and
Catholic churches. This is the first
time such observance has bn given
Good Friday in Pendleton for several
years.

The funeral of Mrs. Mattie Nima,
, who died at the Eastern Oregon
State Hospital Wednesday night, was
held at the' Brown chapel this after
noon at 2 o'clock and Interment was
made at Olney cemetery. Mrs. Kims
and her husband were both sent tr
the hospital from La Pine. Oregon
The husband died a short time ago.

Funeral Of Mrs. Hall.
The funeral of Mm. Ullian M. Hall.
wife of K. K. Hall, an auto mechanic
in the employ of tht Simpson Auto
Co.. was held this morning at 9
o'clock from the Brown chapel. Mrs.
Hall died on April 4 ittActoria where
she had been in a saul tori urn. Peri
tonitis was the cause of death. Mr.
and Mrs. Hall moved to Pendleton
about 18 month ago from Spokane.
