HERMISTON, Jan. 27 "Farmer" Hmith of the O.-W. It. & N. Co., was in the city this week, and made a proposition with the Commercial I 'lull whereby the railroad company will send a man east to rustle more settlers for the project. The stipu lations are, that they secure a con tract with tile owner of each piece (if land for vale; that the same will be old at the figure named, which the Commercial club ngreea Is not unrea sonable, and that the land Is adapted or the purposes staled. The con tract will show number of acres in the tract, price per acre, and the terms of hale. Any land for sale Is to be put In the hands of the Com mercial club and appraised by a board of appraisers named by them.
