Mrs. Jack Smith returned from Portland touay where she has been visiting the last month. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Curry, "the new lyweds," were In town today buying their housekeeping outfit. They are having lots of fun with Tom but he says he will live in nopeo ui bcc,...o it back on a few of them. The Sunday school of Pilot Rock will give another banquet in the church basement Saturday evening at 7:00. The committee has prepared a short program after which lunch will be served and then the remainder of the evening will be spent In playing games. All are welcome to come. Chas. Hooper has moved his tent house over on the Emery Knotts lot. The telephone girls intend renting it. George Doan returned from Port land Sunday evening where he had been visiting for the past week. Oene Knotts and Willard McCulloch went to Pendleton on business Sat urday morning returning Sunday evening. Hans Keilson returned from the Pendleton hospital where he under went an operation for appendicitis. Hans isn't as active as he might be hut by being careful will soon be do ing a eood day's work. Sis Hopkins is visiting with Es ther Wisdom for a few days. Earl Rankin has his motor sled in working order at last. Has run It around town a great deal but hasn't tried to climb anv hills as yet. Miss Clara Peck and Ruth Rover are working in the phone office now News was received today of the death of Geo. Shipley. Cora Knotts' father. Mr. Shipley has been sick for some time but not serious until the past week. V. T. Kidwell finished the car penter work on J. W. Stevenson's house yesterday.
