Opinion seems to be that grav-1 eling during the summer months would do away with the mud in win ter. A few pieces of road upon which gravel was placed the last year are in first class shape at present Although Pilot Rock has been without a pastor for some time and will be without one Christmas. Super intendent Gllleland plans to have a very interesting Christmas program at the regular Sunday school time. It will consist of recitations, speeches, singing and Instrumental pieces. Dr. North, a young dentist from Portland, has decided to locate here. He expects to open after the holi days. Uhe Cunningham Sheep and Land Co. moved one band of sheep to Pine City Tuesday, where they will be wintered. Frank Hilbert from Uklah passed through Pilot Rock on his way south where he will spend the winter. He intends to travel in southern Califor nia and some of the southern states durinz the winter. Mr. Hilbert is a large cattle owner of the Ukiah dist rict. The scarcity of ducks around here this season Is worrying the hunters, j They are wishing for a good lasting fall of snow so that the hunting will be better. Grace Frost, principal of the school here, left Tuesday for Portland where she will spend the holidays with her various friends. Helen DeVaul, teacher of the Red School House left Tuesday for Port land to spend Christmas, with her relatives there. Eva Stubblefield is doing substitute work on the telephone exchange at present. Alex Brady was a visitor in town Tuesday. Edgar Stephens, general agent for the Home Insurance Co. made calls on his local agents here Tuesday.
