The rapid rise of the river during jthe past 24 hours is a welcome occur ence to sportsmen inasmuch as it will probably mean that the steelhead run will reach the upper Umatilla. The flow of water In the river now should fill the Furnish reservoir and permit the steelheads to get up over the spillway. Starcher Is mayor of Umatilla today, having defeated her husband in the election yesterday. Umatilla, Ore., dispatch. The "juice" was off for a time yes terday morning, again in the early af ternoon and last evening there was another period of return to the pri mitive. Boldt, the hotelman, filed here today, leaves his entire estate, es timated in excess of $15,000,444 to his son, George C.
