day and Wednesday,
Life on the rails, with a punchy,
thrilling plot and tense suspense ie
presented in "The Manager of the B.
& A." the newest of the big motion
picture dramas featuring daring Helen
Holmes,
This picture, from the studios of
the Signal Film Corporation, and pre
sented bv the Mutual Film Corpora
tion, is typical of the strenuous works ,
of the director, J. P. McGowan, known
to world wide fame as the maker of
thrill dramas.
In "The Manager of the B. & A."
Miss Holmes has the attractive anl
interesting role of Constance Emory,
the daughter of an aristocratic father
who loses his position as manager of
the "B. & A." because of his leisurely
and aristocratic viewpoint in life,
which leads him more regularly to the
golf links than to the office.
The story has a timely element in it
in view of its dealing with a rail strike
in terms of vigorous visualization. Of
i course there Is a strenuous rivalry
lover the beautiful girl, Constance
' Emory. There are newspaper complt
i cations, fights, explosions and deeds
of daring and -violence without end
