The United Artisans met Wednes day night at their regular meeting and elected Mrs, Jennie Chamberlain us secretary to fill the office vacated by Mrs. Lou Gibbs who will leave Uklah soon. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Gibbs will leave for Portland December 1st, to remain during the winter. They will be gone till May 1st when they will return to their homestead near Uklah Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hilbert leave sometime in December for Portland to spend the winter months in a mild er climate. Jesse Hilbert and Earl Martin were on a hunting trip last week and Earl succeeded in killing a fine buck. Mrs. Jennie Moore left for Gur dane Thursday for a visit with her son Bun Moore, and daughter, Mrs. William Selby. P.iley Sumers and Darrel cannon of Hitter, were in Ukiah Wednesday night on business. Mr. Prater, painter and paper hanger, who has been in Ukiah for the lust three months working at his trade, left Thursday for his home in Walla Walla. Jj. G. Huston has sold his farm one mile south of town to his brother. Harry Huston. Frank Chamberlain left for Pen dleton Thursday, taking a carload of passengers down. Mrs. Norris and daughter of Ritter passed through town Thursday en route to Pilot Rock. Mr. McCampbell of Dale, came in Thursday and is taking care of the feed stable in the absence nf Mr. Welch. The high school student body this morning at its regular monthly meet ing unanimously voted to put out a school paper under the name of the "Illakawln." No officers were elect ed for the running of the paper but each person was asked to think over the most cupable officers and do their Part in maklnc the paper a success It was aureed that for the first sever al months only small papers be issued but as occasion permitted the copies gradually be Increased In volume. The local high school has not put out a school paper for seven years but the publications should now be made a success if every one gets be hind them and boosts.
