An engine dropped burning cinders and started the. blaze. Timely attention saved It so no trains were delayed and not much damage none. Casey went to La Grande on Saturday and then proceeded to Port land on Sunday for a brief visit with his family. It rained alt day Friday her and on Sunday sleeting and threatening to snow. Several from here attended the dance at Kamela on Saturday and report a fine time. Mrs. T. Creasy of Hermlston, was elected president; W. T Reeves of Stanfield, vice pros'dent; Lloyd Rich, es of Stanfield. secretary, and J. C aBrham of Hermlton, treasurer. At a former meeting, two com mittees had been appointed, one to draft a constitution and by-laws and another, a committee of legislation, composed of R. W. Allen of the ex perifent farm. W. T.
