PORTLAND, Clct. 21. Cattle men
o! interior Oregon are enjoying their
nvatcHt prosperity. This is the word
brought to Portland by J. M. Thomp
son, a prominent livestock man of the
Fossil section. "Farmers of Gilliam
county could not help making money
tills season," cays Mr. Thompson, "for
the very Rood reason that they not
nly had excellent crops, but most
excellent pricts.
"The rains were so well diittrihiitAri
that the range was the best known
ror a great many years. The cattle
ol that section of Gilliam cnuntv
around Fossil are rolling In fat. Just
before I left Condon, wheat was sel
ling at 11.25 a bushel. That's nros-
perlty In a nutshell."
