Doctor Says Nuxtrated Iron Will
Increase Strength of Delicate
People 200 in Ten Days
In many InsUaCsTS PUH01M bate ul.
lentl untold agony for years doetoi ing
for ncnous weakness, stomach. liver
or kidney disease or some other ail
inent when their real trouble was tck
of iron in tile bliKwi. Hon to tell.
NKW CORK, N Y - In a recent dis
course Dr. E. Sauer, a well known
Specialist who has studied widely
both in this country and Europe, said:
If you were to make an actual blood
test on all people who are ill you would
probably be greatly astonished at the
exceedingly large number who lack
iron and who are ill for no other rea
son than the lack of iron. The mo
ment iron is supplied all their multi
tude of dangerous symptoms disap
I ear. Without iron the blood at once
loses the power to change food into
living tissue and therefore nothing
vou eat does you any good; you don't
set the strength out of it. Your four
mer-ly passed through your system
like corn through a mill with the roll
ers so wide apart that the mill can't
grind As a result of this continuous
blood and nerve starvation, people be
I ome generally weakened, nervous and
all run down and frequently develop
all sorts of conditions. One is too
thin: another is burdened with unheal
thy fat: some are so weak they can
hardly walk; some think they have
dyspepsia, kidney or liver troUDle:
some can't sleep at night, others are
sleepy and tired all day; some fursv
and irritable; some skinny and blood
less, but all lack physical power and
endurance In such cases, it is worse
than foolishness to take stimulating
nu-di. in-s or narcotic drugs, which
only whip up your fagging vital pow
t for the moment, maybe at the ex
pense of your life later on. No mat
ter what any one tells you. if you are
not strong and well you owe it to your
self to make the following test. Pee
how long you can work or how far
you can walk without becoming tiret!
Next take two five-grain tablets of or
dinary nuxated iron three times per
day after meals for two weeks. Then
test your strength again and see for
yourself how much you have gained
I have seen dozens of nervous run
down people who were ailing all the
time double, and even triple their
strength and endurance and entirely
get rid of their symptoms of dyspep
sia, liver and other troubles In from
ten to fourteen days' time simply by
taking Iron in the proper form, and
this, after they had in some cases been
doctoring tor months without obtain
ing any benefit. You can talk as you
please about all the wonders wrought
by new remedies, but when you come
down to hard facts there is nothinf
like good old iron to put color In you
cheeks and good, sound, healthy flesh
on your bones. It is also a great nerve
and stomach strengthener and the best
blood builder In the world. The only
trouble was that the old forms of In
organic Iron like tincture of iron, iron
acetate, etc . often ruined people's
teeth, upset their stomachs and were
not assimilated and for hese reasons
they frequently did more harm thao
good. But with the discovery of the
newer forms of organic Iron all this
has been overcome. Nuxated Iron for
example, is pleasant to take, does not
invjre the teeth and is almost imme
diately beneficial.
NOTE The manufacturers of Nux
ated Iron have such unbounded con
fidence in its potency that they au
thorize the announcement that they
will forfeit $100.00 to any Charitable
In.n;tutlon if they cannot take any
man or woman under sixty who lacks
iron and increase their strength 204
per cent or over In four weeks' time,
provided they have Re serious organ
ic trouble Also they will refund your
money in any case In which Nuxated
Iron does not at least double your
strength in ten days' time. It Is dis

SALEM, ere.. July $5. Resource!
of Oregon banks, comprising St rati
onal and 177 state Institutions, show
an increase of $S. 192. 930. 73 in the past
year, according to the combined re
port of all these institutions com
piled today by 8. Q. Sargent, state su
perintendent of hanks.
Since the May statement National
banks of the state have increased
their reserve balances with the Feder
al Reserve tiank more than half u
million dollars and now have with
that institution more than $3,000,000
in stock investment and reserve bal
ances. Kediscouts with the Federal
Reserve Hank from Oregon, the state
Dienl shows, are less than $100. 0Ut.
and other rediscouts and borrowed
money have been materially reduced
during the last 60 days.
Although the total resources of
Oregon banks show a big gain for the
year ended June 3". they have de
creased $3. 626. S6.V 44 since May 1 of
this year. The loss in resources is
confined almost wholly to Portland
banks, which show a falling off of
$3.3Sa.S6.V16 in the toe 60 days. The
country banks show practically nu
change in this item since the May
call.
Deposits show Reeent Doss,
Deposits of all banks in the state
have decreased $3,521,007 " 1 since
May - last, but shjw an increase of
$9,212,377.19 since June 23, 1915.
This item Superintendent Sargent said
accounted for the loss in total re
sources, the entire amount being sus
tained by Portland hanks.
"The loss in deposits." declared Su
perintendent Sargent. "Is accounted
for by Portland bankers by the fact
that large sums have been diverted
from city banks to country banks for
seasonal loans to finance the harvest
ing of the grain and fruit crops. The
statement this time would indicate
that this is true, as balances due
other banks have decreased more
than $2,000,000. Other reasons bank
ers give for the shrinkage in deposits
are that depositors of current funds
have been materially reduced through
current payments, and large deposits
kept in Portland for purchase and ex.
port of foodstuffs to Europe were
expended since last May and the
funds transferred to other cities un
til buying is resumed."
Postal Savings Increase,
Superintendent Sargent said anoth
er reason assigned for the loss in de
posits is the withdrawal of savings
deposits for investment purposes on
account of the reduction In interest
rates effective July 1.
"The figures, however, do not con
firm the contention " continued Mr.
Sargent "Savings deposits in Port
land alone have increased $442,000
since May 1. The only change in the
statement that would indicate that
the reduced rate of Interest Is going to
effect the savings deposits in the
Portland bunks is the fact that DOS'
tal savings deposits In Portland have
gained ISO, 629.03 during the last 60
days, the largest increase in this peri
od yet noted."
