Though yesterday gave indication of being a fine day for angling, many of those who were out all day with hook and line report poor luck. Geo. Hartman. James Bowler, Max Hopper and Louis Badeaux composed one par ty going, up Meacham creek and they had little success. W. C. "A membership of one thousand" is the slogan adopted Saturday after noon at a meeting of the old Uma tilla County Good Roads association held in the Commercial club rooms. Plans were discussed for making the organization a live, active and ef fective good roads association and it was agreed that a large membership is one of the prime essentials. It was also planned to appoint a vice presi dent from each community of the county to look after the work for the good roads needs of his particular locality.
