J. M. Harrison, well known Birch creek farmer, has returned from western Oregon where he visited in different counties and purchased a registered Guernsey bull which will arrive here tomorrow. Mr. Harrison bought the bull from John T. Whal ley below Portland. Parish Meeting Tonight. The annual Parish meeting of the Church of the -Redeemer will be held this evening at 7:30 o'clock for the purpose of electing a vestry for the ensuing year, delegates to convoca tion, and receiving reports of the treasurer and secretary. All commu nicants and supporters are requested to attend. Fiuley to Film Animals. William L. Finley of Portland, state biologist, is expected to arrive in Pen dleton in a few days and will go into the mountains with & moving picture camera for the purpose of filming coyotes, badgers, porcupines and other animals. Budal Coffey, George HackaUiorne and their mother, Mrs. Coffey, left last night for Los Angeles where they expect to make their home. They have disposed of their property In this city Funeral of Mrs. Daniels. The funeral of Mrs. Daniels, who died at the St. Anthony hospital last week, was held this morning at 10 o'clock at the Folsom chapel and the body was shipped this afternoon to Monroe. Wash., to relatives. V. C. T. I", to Meet. The W. C. T. U. will hold a regular meeting tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist church. Leaders of the departments of Sunday observance and the circulation of official papers will conduct the meeting. Whirlwind Gets Heavy Flue. Charley Shapliah (Whirlwind), the big Indian who frequents police court, was brought before Judge Fits Oerald again this morning on a drunk charge and was given a 133 or 12 day sentence. Any boy over the age of 11 must have a license to hunt. Colored Tigers Win. The Pendleton Colored Tigers won a rather loosely played game yester day from the Pendleton Woolen Mills team by the score of 19 to 11. The game was played at the Round-Up grounds and a fair crowd attended. Batteries for the visitors were IB Wright, Cranshaw and C. Wright, while Houser and Williamson toiled for the losers. Will of A. Mc Milium. The last will ot the late Archie Mc. Klnnon of Helix was admitted to probate today. All of his property Is left to his two brothers, Alen and Malcolm, and two sisters. Morrison is named executor but ne waived his right in favor of Daniel K. Bell Mother of 11 Wants Divorce. After living with him as a wife for 30 years and bearing him eleven chil dren. Mrs. Junletta Sherman of this city today filed suit against him for divorce, for the custody of tour minor children and for $10u suit money. The twilight baseball league, or ganised by the Methodist, Presbyteri an. Christian and Baptist churches, will begin playing tomorrow evening, and games will be played on every Tuesday and every Friday evening un til the close of the schedule. Discrepancy is Explained. In a news story last week the num ber of arrests made last month and the number of cases in police court for April were stated. There were about ten more arrests than cases in court, and this Is explained by the fact that the police often take Into cus tody and book men whom they pick up as suspects and later release. To Enter Rowling Contest. Pendleton will enter a bowling team in the Pacific coast telegraphic bowling tournament which will begin May 15, and practice for the contests will be started tonight In the Bun galow parlors. The local bowlers chose to enter this tournament rather than go to Seattle for the Northwest tournament. Under the rules of the telegraphic tournament, teams are paired for a certain night, each team rolling on its own alleys under the direction of a referee sent for the purpose. The results are telegraphed to headquarters and the winners de cided by the scores. I .. una "Lefty's" Name a Hoodoo. "Lefty" Schroeder, formerly a star in the Western Trl-state League and whom Walter McCredie came close to taking to the training camp this spring, was recently released by the Tacoma club, ,of the Northwestern league He then signed to pitch for an Independent team In Roslyn, Can ada, but because of his German name the Canadian authorities would not let him cross the border. Vander bilt the noted society leader has been rcnoved to her country home at Je richo, L I., where she Is seriously ill after un operation which was per formed several days ago. Mrs. Vanderbilt has been dieting rigorously for some time and has re duced herself noticeably. Her friends think that she may have weakened herself In this way and that the operation may have proved more serious on that account. The marriage of her daughter.
