About 10 tons of salmon, netting
more than 11 000, were confiscated
above Washougal. in the Columbia
river, by J. P. Bucham. deputy game
warden, of Kelso. Wash. The fish
had been caught out of season and
were being kept with Ice to be thrown
upon the market May I, when the sea
son opens.
A. M. Wright and William Stinson
owners of the fish, were fined, with
cost. S64 each by Judge R. H. Back
of the superior court of Clarke
county today when they pleaded gull.

of aldermen of a resolution under
which would be .appropriated $300,
000 to be placed at the disposal of the
child welfare board.
If the resolution I acted on favor
ably by the board of estimate, the
proposed allowances will be granted.

on Sunday afternoon. Sixteen mem
bers appeared, doing excellent for the
first attempt.
Roy Hawes carried honors of hav
ing 12 straight. His total score was
14 out of 25 shots,

being 19 out of 25 shot.
