The heavy snows in the mountain
during the winter will result in a long
season of placer mining in the Oreen
horn district, according to a letter
from Frank Pierce, Pendleton young
man who has claims there. He Is
working now and expects to make a
clean-up this year.

shone for the greater part of last
week and the weather was warn but
toward the latter pan of the week a
cold rain started falling. All the crops
are not In yet on account of the cold
ness and dampness of the ground.
