The game was a good game at that after the third Inning when the Pilot Rockers clubbed Brown to death, get ling six safe blows and seven mark ers. Brill took up the gun work for the home squad then and had much better success, allowing no more than ne hit in an Inning. The old reliable, tiert Darling, who won his every game last season, bad his famous curves and control work ing in mid-season form. In the first we innings only II men faced him in the sixth, after he had fanned two, Krnie H'.omgren, Barnes and Qrin dell all cltckked him safely, register ing Weston's lone score. The Pilot Rock team, save for the addition of Harlan, is the same as last season and looks like the strong est club in the league at this writing. The score of the game: Pilot Rock. McGarrigle himself, as hunler, was cot as effective as in the heydey of bis pitching career. He was blud geoned rbht smartly by the Echo stalwarts, but some of the hits re corded off him would never have been hits with proper support. Lundwall, Echo's clever second sacker. was the batting star of the game. He hit safely three times, once for a single, once for a triple and once for a homer, and all of his blows counted In the score-making. Kubanks was the only Pendleton man who shone any with the stick. In his first trip up he h;t a double and In the seventh with the bases loaded, he cleaned them with a three-saeker. Echo began the scoring In the fourth though In the second and third McGarrigle had to pult himself out of bad holes. In the fourth an error by j Kreuger. with two down followed by a double by Hale and a single by Markham. gave a triplet of tallies Three more followed in the fifth, mostly as a result of triples by Lund wall and Middleton. and in the sixth a third trio was hung up without the aid of a hit, errors, walks and stolen bases being responsible. In the last of the seventh. the Bucks made their entire score. Mur phy dropped Hayes' fly. M Garrlgle singled and a walk to McGinnls filled ihe basa. Then Eubank drove the ball to left center and It was good for three bases when It hopped over the fence Eubanks himself scored on the Infield ball of Vaiian who had re placed Kreuger at first.
