Charged with using explosives to catch fish, Jesse Goffe of Condon was arrested by Deputy Game Warden George Tonkin and will appear before Justice of the Peace McReynolds at Pilot Rock within 20 days to answer the charge. Hundreds of anglers went out yes terday to many streams to try their fortune but most of them returned with tales of fishermen's luck only. Most of the streams rose a little Sat urday night and this high water, to gether with the murkiness of the water, worked to the detriment of the anglers. Recovered Prom Illness. Oliver P. Morton, U. S. reclamation attorney who recently moved to Los Angeles from Portland, has entirely recovered from the serious attack of pleurisy with which he suffered for several weeks. This Is the organized effort to provide training In suitable trades for the maimed soldiers of the French republic. An anneal for help for the Ameri can committee having the relief work in charge here has been issued by Mrs. Edmund L Baylies. Its chairman. The work is under the official patron age of; the president of France. What the movement Is accomplishing and hopes still more to acompllsh has been set forth by Arthur Gleason, on of those Identified with it. "A society has been formed In France to save these men." says Mr. Gleason. "For 1100 a maimed man can be supported and educated Into a worker who will carry himself. Such trades are already taught as basket-making, carpentry, glass work, photography, slioemaklng. tailoring, Instrument muklng, watch making, tinware, bookkeeping, und shorthand and typewriting country: NO.
