DRINK WATER TO
AVOID SICKNESS
SAYSAUTHORITY
GLASS OF HOT WATER BEFORE
BREAKFAST DAILY KEEPS
THE DOCTOR AWAY.
Sanitary science hns of lute made
rapid strides with results that are ol
untold blessing to humanity. The lat
est application of its untiring research
Is the recommendation that It la as
necessary to attend to internal sani
tation of the drainage system of the
human body as It Is to the drains ol
the house.
Those of us who are accustomed to
feel dull and heavy when we arise,
xpllttlng headache, stuffy from a cold,
foul tongue, nasty breath, sold stom
ach, can. Instead, feel as fresh as a
daisy by opening the sluices of the
system each morning and flushing
out the whole of the Internal poison
out stagnant matter.
Everyone, whether ailing, sick 01
well, should, esch morning before
hreakfost, drink a glass of real hot
water with a tenspoonful ol lime
stone phosiihate in It to wash from
the stomach and bowels the previous
clay's Indigestible waste, sour bile
und poisonous toxins; thus cleansing,
sweetening and purifying the entire
alimentary canal before iiutting more
food Into the stomach. The action of
hot water and limestone phosphate OS
an empty stomach Is wonderfully In
vigorating. It cleans out all the sour
fermentations, gases, waste and acid
ity and glvea one a splendid appetite
for breakfast. While you are enjoy
ing your breakfaat the phosphated
hole water Is quietly extracting a
large volume of water from the blood
and getting ready for a thorough
flushing of all the Inside organs.
The millions of people who' sre
bothered with constipation, bilious
spells, stomach trouble, rheumatic
stiffness; others' who nave sallow
skins, blood disorders and sickly com
plexions are urged to gel h quarter
pound of limestone priosphale from
the drug store. This will cost very
little, but la sufficient to make any
one a pronounced crank on the sub
ject of Internal sanitation.

Portland May Ship
Yearly Contract
Secured by Firm
PORTLAND, Ore.. March 30.
Portland grain dealers may be culled
upon to furnish large supplies of for
age for American cavalry and artil
lery horses on the Mexican border.
A carload of oats waa dispatched
last week by the United States quar
termaster, and It Is possible other or
ders will be placed.
Albers Bros, have a yearly contract
to furnish forage for the western de
partment, and with the concentration
of the American forces on the Mexi
can line it is possible the contract will
he filled by having the fraln follow
the army.
Reports of rush orders for 500 tons
of oats are denied by the United
stated quartermaster in Portland.
Preparations are being made for sack
ing and shipping, however, If the need
arises.
Potato Market is
Mass of Strength
PORTLAND, Ore., March 30. For
tana potatoes buyers are freely offer
ng $1 .50 a cental f. o. b. country ship
poing points, but little business has
resulted because holders of this grade
are asking even more money. ,
With the San Francisco market for
Oregon stock well above the 22
mark, and with the government re
ported a liberal buyer of supplies in
the smith, together with the small
holdings generally here, the whole
coast trade Is strong.
Along the wholesale fay best pota
toes are being firmly held at $1.75 a
cental, with actual sales confirmed
at this pr'ce. If the country markets
continue In their present strong po
sition, It Is quite possible that the lo.
cal market will be forced still higher
within the immediate future.
Mr. Piatt of the Piatt Produce com
pany of Stockton. Cal., has been in
the city for several days to create
m ntiment here n an effort to modify
to some extent the present ruling
acninst infected potatoes from the
south. The Stockton man proposes
that the stock be Inspected nt Cali
fornia shipping point. He argues
that Inspection can be more thorough
there because It Is almost Impossible
to properly Inspect all stock after it
I placed In the cars. An effort will
be made to see the governor of the
state In this regard.

Grain to Mexico
How long the outside demand will
continue la not known, but as long
us It does the market Is sure to re.
main favorable In price to country
shippers.
On the other hand the present
price is too high for successful stor
ageat least that is the way that stor
age Interests place the matter.. Natu
rally they are out of the market for
the moment, but the demand else
where is so good that the loss of their
buying is not felt.
Receipts of eggs are showing prac

opinions, in their own minds, are the
only ones worth considering. That
there are tricks to all trades is a say
ing as old as Mount Hood. A year
ago efforts were mane to hammer
prices down, but they did not succeed
as well as some hoped for. This year
It is a different story. The majority
of reports have been In effect that
prices are to be the highest since the
civil war. This has neen given sup
port "by high prices already paid
which have been the highest in over
50 years.
Today a report comes from certain
Willamette valley points which states
that certain buyers ror Lawrence
(Mass.) mills and Boston brokers are
offering as high as 35 cents a pound
for coarse valley wools They are
not paying this price, out the effect of
their alleged offer Is to keep grow
ers from selling to somenody else who
will not pay as much. It begins to
look as though 30 cents may be the
limit for valley coarse wools, but
there Is no telling, like sugar, the
market may become excited and slop
over.
Growers Won't Contract.
As a matter of fact a buyer could
presumably offer 40 cents a pound in
the valley today and be perfectly safe
in doing so, for the reason that there
is no wool to be had at this time
Growers positively refuse to contract
at this stage of the game, and in this
everybody agrees they are wise
A telegram received from Boston
this morning states that Willamette
valley wools on sale In that city
and there is very little remaining
actually bring there 35 cents a pound
This means that buyers cannot pay
over 30 cents here, because shrink
age, freight and other incidental ex
penses amount to fully 3 cents a
pound, and possibly more Portland
