KEEP URIC ACID OUT OF JOINTS TlUjj HREUMATISM SUFFERERS! TO RAT LESS nusm TAKE SAJjTS. Hhcumatism is easier to avoid than to cure, states a well-known authorl- ty: We are advised to iirem wh lyj keep the feet dry; avoid exposure; eat lea meat, but drink plenty o! good water. Rheumatism Is a direct result of eating too much meat and other rich foods that produce uric acid which Is absorbed Into the blood. It Is the function or the kidney to filter this acid from the Mood and cast It out In the urine; the pores of the skin are also a menus of freeing the blood of tbl impurity. In damp and chltK cold weather the skin Pores are "closed, thus forcing the kidneys to do double work, they become weak and sluggish and fall to ellmlnutc the uric acid which keeps accumulating and circulating through the system, eventually settling In the joints an l muscles, causing stirfness, soreness and pain called rheumatism. At the first twinge of rheumatism Ket from any pharmacy about lour ounces of Jad Salts, put a tnblespoon ful In a glass Of water and drink be fore breakfast each morning for a week. This Is said to eliminate uric acid hy stimulating the kidney to normal action, thus ridding the blood of these Impurities. Jad Salts is inexpensive, harmless and Is made from the acid of grapes and lemon Juice, (-omened with Hth la and Is used with excellent results bv thousands of folks who are sub ject to rheumatism. Hero you have a pleasant .effervescent llthla-watcr drink which helps overcome uric acid nnd I beneficial to your kidneys a well. Entire Market for Livestock is Mass of Great Strength (Courtesy Sunday's Journal.) PORTLAND, Ore In general this lias been a most favorable week for the sale of livestock m the North Portland yards. Receipts in all lines showed decreases from the previous six days and a somewnat better de mand generally the lifting of values was comparatively easy. The extreme shortage and strength ol the mutton and lamb trade here at the moment is tfie wonder of the mar ket. All tokl there were receipts of S94 head of stuff in the mutton pens during the week compared with 3978 head last week, but out of the total number received here during the six days but eight head were for the op en market. Dnder such nominal offering it was small wonder that the local trade is rather excited in its views regarding the immediate future of mutton and lamb values. The highest' price thus lar paid for lambs has been 110 per hundred pounds. This was paid In the yards at Stanfield the cost of getting the stock here and the shrink age forming a greater total For top lambs the trade here at the moment Is eagerly bidding $10.50 but there ia seemingly little in sight.
