Harry Carrier and Ro Howard, the
three alleged yeggmen arrested here

themselves by habeas corpus proceed
ings. They are wanted in Idaho for
burglary and were extradited from
this state.

As it passed the house of represen
tatives Congressman Btnnott'l bill pro
viding money for the construction of
bridges at Thorn Hollow and Mis
sion is reimbursible from any future
additions to the Indian tribal fund
here. The amendment was insisted
upon by Republican Ijeader Mann,
the bill as originally introduced call
ing tor an appropriation out of the
feneral fund. The reimbursible fea
ture of the bill does not affect any
tribal money already apportioned to
Individual Indians but applies only to
tribal money. It is the presumption
that the bill will be passed in Its pres
ent form.

Three of Pendleton's four Judges,
Judge Marsh. Judge Parkes and Judge
Fitz (terald, failed miserably when
asked to repeat the sentences. Th?
fourth. Judge Phelps, probably es.

the city. Judge Marsh, who is a
bachelor, started out bravely, "I saw
in the street a pretty little girl." and
he probably did. bul that had noth
ing to do with the matter at hand.
Judge Parkes curtailed the last sen
tence, that Is he b ft the tall off the
cur, and Judge Fits 1 lerald didn't give
the poor dog a leg to stand on.
Mayor Best, after hearing the sen
tences and learning their purposes,
j refused to commit himself, being a
wise politician. Soma of the braini
est of the councilmen flunked igno

stead of repeating the sentences, in-

The county officials, with hardly an
exception, proved their Binet imbecil
ity. Most of them took a running
