SPORTS Tommy Clark Knocks Out Farrell in Ten Round Go Last Night Bill) FarfwU, who lout to Tommy Clark in a 20 round bout when they fouxht here luKt month, wan knocked out In the 10th round by Clark last night at the Oregon theater. In the 10th. Clark put a left to Farrell g Jaw and the latter went down for the count of nine. He got to his feet hut Clark caught him again on the Jaw and Farrell took the count. He was not knocked unconscious but the ter rific punches of Clark shattered him so cnmnletelv that he could not con tinue. The previous fight of these boys ended In an unsatisfactory way when Farrell. colluding with Clark In ft clinch, made a large gash In the for mers forehead and tit referee gave the decision to Clark. The majority of fans felt that Farrell was a better boy than the Portland fighter and the return bout was.arranged. There was much interest In last night s fight for this reaton and one of .the largest crowds nf any fight In this city re. ently was on hand to see the mill. Clark worked his rushing tactics as before and frequently had Farrell In the ropes. Referee Asa U. Thomson of Echo warned Clark several timet against rushing. The warnings seem ed to work Clark into a fury and In the loth 'he opened up with vicious punches which appeared to baffle Far rell. Before the round had ended, Farrell was groggy. He staggered to his feet after being sent to the floor but another Jab caught him on the law and this time he was unable go on. It was a clear knock-out Clark. One Interesting preliminary, refer eed by Buddy Stevens, opened the program of the everting. The first, between Bog Grey of' Hoiiuiam and Billv Edwards of Marshfleld. went four rounds, the decision being given td Grey. I-ast night's fight may le the last In which Farrell will be seen here. He said this morning that he expect ed to leave Pendleton. .16. comparative score route, the football world should have come food for thought after tomorrow's battle at Cambridge.
