EXPERT ON EASTERN OREGON PASSES AWAY BAKER, Ore., Aug. 28. Charles M. Foster, a pioneer of Baker county since 1863, died at his home here af ter an Illness of only a few days. Fri day he attended the funeral of John i B. Grlswold, a pioneer business man, who sustained fatal Injuries in an au to accident the preceding Sunday. Charles M. Foster was born In Cale' donla, Vt, gaining his early educa tion at Montpeller academy. He crossed the plains to Colorado in 1849, later going to California.
