Phelps today paroled P. L. Rawn, the
man who forged the name of Ken
Colvln to a 8500 note and who en
tered a plea of guilty to the charge
of forgery. Whether or not the man
will be committed to an Institution or
will be placed In the custody of some
private Individual Judge Phelps har
not yet decided.

Colorado's ruggedeat mountain dis
tricts is probably the most remark
able municipality In the world.
Seventy-five convicts, including fifty-three
burglars and robbers, have,'

I Only once since the camp was ee-:
tabllshed two and a half years ago to'
work on what will be the most beau-'
tlful scenic highway In the world, has
there been a violation of any law
within the camp's borders.
This consisted of the theft of a
package of tobacco. It was a heinous
offense and was punished by the
greatest punishment possible the
thief was returned to the penitentiary,
deprived of outdoor employment and
rendered an outcast in the eyes of
fellow prisoners
The day and night marshals in the
camp have nothing to do; their offi
ces are merely honorary.
Elections are honestly conducted

consist of recitations, music, vaude

ment. The camp has a phonograph
and 150 good records.
There Is a board to pass ordinances
and arbitrate disputes. It drafted a
constitution. Only twice has it been
called upon to settle disagreements.

MINEOLA, July 9 Following a
brief session at the inquest into the
death of Frank Holt. Coroner Jones
Intimated that he will find the Cap
itol bomb planter and the assailant
of Morgan suicided unaided and with-1
out connivance from the outside. Jer-
ry O'Ryan, an aged guard who was on
duty when Holt ended his life, testi
fied he was now satisfied the "ex
plosion" he heard and which he
thought at first was a shot, was real
ly the popping of Holt's skull as he
struck the stone flagglnc. C. S. Cor
nell, an undertaker, testified the
wound was not caused by a bullet.
The inquest adjourned for a week af
ter this testimony was taken.
