These chains have no attachment to the buttonhole but are worn from one rest pocket to the other. They may be worn in the upper or lower pockets. If a pencil or knife is carried on one end of the chain it may be more conveniently used by having the watch in the lower right pocket with the pencil in the upper left These chains are not only sensible but very attractive and dressy. HAS STKADFAST FAITH IX PUF.S. IDKNT WILSON IX PKK.S- EXT CRISIS. "1 have a great deal of confidence In Pres.dent Wilson and feel that he will do everything possible to avert ar and yet maintain the dignity ot the nation. And yet I am fearful that we will be drawn Into It for It Is my opinion that the ka.aer, knowing he must eventually succumb to the allies, would rather have It said of him that It took the whole" world to defeat his armies." This was the statement made this morning by Col. YV. F. Cody (liuffalo Hill), who is here with the Sells-Floto circus. Col. Cody Is much more Inter, ested in the war than the average cit izen, not alone because he has seen military experience himself but be cause he has personally visited every town In Europe which has been tho scene of military operations during the present cunft'et. As late as 1908 he took his wild west show troupe to the continent and showed at every town of every importance. On his European trips, Col. Cody was the guests of kings and emperors. He wears a watch today that was given htm by King Victor Emmanuel of Italy. In Berlin In 190 he was a special guest of Kaiser William when that warrior-emperor reviewed 40, 040 of his matchless troops. Buffulo Bill has a great respect for the war lord and his fighting machine and be lieves It will be a long time yet be fore he Is conquered. Col. Cody discussed th's morning the resignation of Secretary of State Bryan. He regrets the action at this time, he slates, but believes Bryan acted only as he consistently could In view of the part he has played In the advocacy of peace. Huwever, Col. Cody is a strong supporter of Presi dent Wilson and personally takes the stand the president does. "I am a man of peace," he said, "but I do not believe in sacrificing the nation's dig nity." He does not think this countrj is prepared to enter a war. :t!!im!ii!iiiii!iii!i!i!iiiimii!!n;;i iiuiiuniiiiiiiiuiiiiiiiHiiiiiinunitiinsniiininu;. No Matter V hat the Price You 1 Can.
